PML-N MNA says the govt taking action because it has to maintain writ of state

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News, Web Desk) - Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) leader Talal Chaudhry has on Thursday said that the government took action because the state must establish its writ. He backed Islamabad government s action against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers, reported Dunya News.

Talking exclusively to Dunya News, Talal Chaudhry said that the government must have taken action in order to establish the writ of the government. He said that Section-144 was implemented in the city and the government had to take action against those not complying with the orders.

When confronted, Talal Chaudhry said that District Coordination Officer (DCO) had told the PTI officials in Islamabad to apply for formal permission to hold the public meeting but PTI didn t. As a result, the government decided to take action.

Upon contact, PTI leader Imran Ismail said that the government was showing highhandedness in its dealing with the PTI workers. He was asked if PTI had applied for permission, Ismail said that he didn t feel there was any need to request permission from the government. "Who are they to give us permission", Imran said.
