PML-Q announces support for PTI sit-in against govt
Chaudhry Shujaat also elected unopposed president of PML-Q , lends support to PTI against govt
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q) has on Friday announced support for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) sit-in against government, reported Dunya News.
Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Chaudhry Shaujaat Hussain was once again elected as President of the party unopposed and immediately lent support to PTI against the government. Moreover, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi was also elected as the President of the party’s Punjab chapter.
Pervez Elahi said on the occasion that PML-Q couldn’t stay out of the sit-in as it had already been inviting other parties to join it. General Council of the party also decided to hold the intraparty elections from here on after four years instead of three. The party elections were held under the supervision of PML-Q’s chief election commissioner Kamil Ali Agha.
Talking to media afterwards, Pervez Elahi said that the entire opposition should help PTI in its sit-in against the government. He added that the people of Pakistan still remembered the 16 people who were martyred in Model Town.
