India not committed to solve historical Kashmir dispute, COAS tells foreign military leaders
Stability in Afghanistan would guarantee peaceful region, clears Chief of the Army Staff
BERLIN (Dunya News) – Chief of the Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif on Monday, while addressing the Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces conference in Germany, has said that India is not committed to solve historical dispute of occupied Kashmir valley.
The army chief addressed leaders of armed forces of different countries including representatives of the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) in a conference during his one-day visit to Germany.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, General Sharif highlighted use of coercive methods and ill tactics in the held valley through Indian government-backed instruments during his foreign visit.
Non-serious attitude of India to resolve outstanding Kashmir dispute is adding to misunderstandings and regional clashes, the COAS said. He said that Indian intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing was exercising blood-shed under a pre-mediated strategy.
The CENTCOM was also briefed by the Chief of Army Staff over successes bagged by the state under Operation-Zarb-e-Azb, a large-scale military offensive launched in June 2013 in tribal areas particularly North Waziristan.
Statistics show that over 3,500 terrorists have been killed so far in the operation and hundreds of hideouts of militants belonging to different banned outfits destroyed while the operation has stepped in its last phase.
General Sharif told the conference that Pakistani forces were targeting all terror organisations, operational in the country, without any discrimination.
The state of the country changed for better after the kind of efforts put up by Pakistan Army and other agencies against extremism, he added. The army chief said that different ongoing operations were targeting sympathizers as well as sponsors of terror in the country.
He also let it be known to the participants of the conference that stability in Afghanistan would guarantee peaceful region.
He reiterated Pakistan’s complete support to all representatives of countries who attended the conference in war on terror.
Hailing Pakistan’s efforts, General Sharif said that different states could learn from Pakistan’s fight against terror. However, he said that efforts being made by Pakistan to weed-out extremism could not be thoroughly fruitful until terrorists in neighbouring states were not eliminated.
The Chief of Army Staff admitted that it was difficult to control cross-border movement along porous border with Afghanistan owing to weak management system.
General Sharif termed intelligence sharing and result-producing cooperation among security institutions a challenge in Pakistan which, he said that Indian RAW was exploiting to its advantage.
