Flt Lt Omer Shazad died in the accident

Peshawar (Dunya News) – PAF fighter jet crashed in Jamrud area of Khyber Agency, reported Dunya News.

Flt Lt Omer Shazad succumbed to fatal injuries in the accident.

According to PAF spokesperson, a board of inquiry has been ordered for determining the cause of the accident.

“The fighter jet was on a routine operational training mission and apparently crashed owing to technical defect,” added the spokesperson.

There has been no report of any civilian casualty in the accident.

Pakistan Air Force suffered heavy losses as some of its fighter jets crashed over the last couple of years.

In 2015, a PAF fighter jet F7-PG crashed during its routine training operation near Mastung.

On 24th November 2015, Flying Officer Mariam Mukhtar was killed in the F-7 plane crash near Kundian, Mianwali.
