Sindh govt would provide free books to students to promote education

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Provincial Minister Nisar Khuhro said that Sindh government had been providing free books to students to promote education while durinng a meeting with businessmen and industrialists in Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce Industry (FPCCI) on Monday Khuhro said that last year Rs 1.6 billion were spent on books and that their government had been looking to spend more money on renovation of schools instead of establishing newer ones, reported Dunya News.

Sindh minister also said that his department had also been trying to spend money on other facilities. He also added that 4.2 hundred thousand students were enrolled in government schools last year but this year 1 million new students were enrolled making a total to 5.2 hundred thousand.
