Dr Sattar's coordinator died while under treatment in Jinnah Hospital in Rangers custody
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has ordered investigations into Dr Farooq Sattar’s coordinator, Aftab Hussain’s death two days after his arrest, Dunya News reported Wednesday.
General Sharif has directed authorities concerned to launch a probe in the matter. He has stated that justice should be ensured at all costs. Dr Sattar had demanded the Chief of Army Staff to take notice of the incident after Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) alleged Rangers of Hussain’s extra-judicial killing.
Dr Sattar’s coordinator died while under treatment at Jinnah Hospital in Rangers custody on Tuesday.
Rangers had taken Hussain in custody from his Federal B Area residence two days before his death. The paramilitary force had acquired 90-day remand of the suspect a day before he was admitted in hospital.
He was shifted to the hospital early Tuesday morning while the administration there stated that he died at 8:20am. Dr Sattar had called for a fair probe in Hussain’s death. He said that Hussain’s family should be assured that the cause of his death was natural.
According to a report issued after his autopsy, Aftab’s heart beat and nerves were not functioning when he was brought to the hospital, however, despite putting him on a ventilator, doctors failed to restore his breath.

Senior MLO Dr Kaleem said that reason of Hussain’s death was concealed over judicial orders.
Ont the other hand, spokesperson for the paramilitary force stated that Hussain had complained about pain in his chest and died of cardiac arrest on the way to the hospital.
Funeral prayer of the deceased was offered in Numaish Chowrangi in the evening yesterday. Dr Sattar left opposition committee’s meeting at Aitzaz Ahsan, Opposition Leader in the Senate’s residence in the federal capital early to attend his coordinator’s funeral.
The party is observing a day of mourning today over Hussain’s death.
