India's request of consular access to Yadav will be made keeping in view "merit of the case": Aizaz

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhary on Friday while exclusively talking to Dunya News stated that Pakistan has made it evident to India that instant consular access to detained spy Kulbhushan Yadav is not possible and that the decision in this regards will be based on merit, reported Dunya News.

Chaudhary added that it has been clarified to India in the recent talks held between the two countries that activities conducted by the neighbouring country’s intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) are a hurdle in establishing peace between both countries.

He said that decision regarding Yadav will be made after investigation is complete. He stated that as the matter is related to national security therefore India’s request of consular access to Yadav will be made keeping in consideration the “merit of the case”.

Chaudhary said that India’s stance regarding restoration of negotiations between the two countries is confusing, adding that India has not denied the need of holding talks but “the Indian (Foreign) Secretary had no answer as to how to proceed with the negotiation process” he said.

Foreign Secretary said that India will find Pakistan willing to hold talks whenever the former gets ready to negotiate.
