Guards of supposed representative of Punjab CM attacked Dunya groups vehicle; Shehbaz takes notice
LAHORE (Dunya News) – A man named Khawaja Imran Raza who claimed to be the Personal Staff Officer (PSO) of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif, attacked a vehicle under the use of Dunya media group during a protest near the Press Club, reported Dunya News.
Khawaja Imran began to kick the vehicle and abuse the team members of Dunya media group while intimidating that no one can stop his path.
According to CM House sources, Khawaja Imran is not a PSO of the Chief Minister. Furthermore, CM Shehbaz Shahbaz took notice of the unfortunate event and directed to initiate investigation upon the matter.
Punjab government representative Zaeem Qadri stated that officers are not allowed to use the name of the CM in any matter as they are representatives of Punjab government, not the Chief Minister.
Journalist organisations across the country have condemned the attack on Dunya media group’s vehicle. Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) President Rana Azeem demanded that the CM should order to file a case against Khawaja Imran.
President Lahore Press Club Shehbaz Mian stated that the government has failed to provide security to the journalists as the condition of law and order in Lahore is worsening.
