A-Taxi yellow cabs look set to roam roads of Lahore
CM Punjab also drove in the taxi alongside the Turkish Mayor at the inauguration.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Yellow cabs of a new, state of the art taxi service known as A-Taxi look all set to roam through the roads and streets of Lahore, the result of a deal between Istanbul Metropolitan and the Punjab government. Introduced by the Turkish Company Albayrak, a 100 car fleet has been introduced initially.
According to the details, the launch of the new cab scheme was inaugurated by Chief Minister Punjab (CM) Shahbaz Sharif and Istanbul’s Mayor Dr Kadir Topbas.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Punjab stated that the A-Taxi scheme was a gift for Lahore’s citizens. CM Punjab also drove in the taxi alongside the Turkish Mayor.
The first of its kind to be introduced in the country, the GPRS laden cab’s services can be availed by simply hailing one on the road, through a mobile phone app or a calling a UAN number.
The cab service has also introduced fare meter and the calculation of fare will be according to the kilometers travelled to avoid any overcharging.
