Islamabad: Hotel bar sealed for selling alcohol without checking permits
Cop in guise of customer went to hotel, sealed bar after hotel sold him liquor without question
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Assistant Commissioner (AC) Capt (R) Waqas Rashid sealed Best Western Hotel Islamabad s bar on Tuesday for selling alcohol publically without checking any permits, reported Dunya News.
According to the details, Waqas Rasheed went to the hotel bar and bought a bottle of liquor just like other customers but when the hotel staff provided him with the requested drink without any question, the undercover cop ordered to seal the bar right away and requested the higher authorities to cancel the alcohol selling license of the hotel.
It is worth mentioning here that non-Muslims and foreigners require consumption permit issued by Excise and Taxation Department in order to buy alcoholic drinks but the hotel was selling alcohol without verifying anything from the customers.
