Imran Khan's audio message was termed a violation of code of conduct

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Responding to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) letter against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s presser, Election Commission said the former’s press conference is not against the election code of conduct, Dunya News reported.

According to details, PTI termed Prime Minister’s press conference pre-poll rigging and wrote to the Election Commissioner demanding to take notice and strict action.

The ECP said in the response that the presser was not a violation of the election code, adding that if the prime minister swayed the voters or announce development scheme then action would be taken.

The ECP said Imran Khan’s press conference on the other hand is violation of the code of conduct because broadcasting message or advertisements are banned after the election campaign duration has ended.
