ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Shirin Mazari on Friday asked the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to stake strict notice of release of advertisements by the ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) two days before NA-122 by-election.

In a letter to Secretary ECP Babar Yaqoob Fateh Muhamamd, Shirin Mazari said the flooding of the electronic media by the Punjab government ads is clearly a crude attempt to influence the election process.

“This is complete violation of the ECP Code of Conduct and therefore requires immediate action by the ECP,” she added.

She said not only must the ads be discontinued but also those responsible must be held accountable.
