KARACHI (Web Desk) - The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday suspended the 5-year imprisonment sentence given to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MPA Ali Nawaz Shah by an accountability court this month, Dunya News reported.

A two-member bench of the SHC headed by Justice Ahmed Ali Sheikh heard the bail pleas submitted by the accused.
After hearing the arguments from both sides, the high court ordered release of the accused on bail while suspending the imprisonment sentence.
The accused were also directed to submit surety bonds worth Rs 0.5 million each.
On September 10, the NAB court sentenced Ali Nawaz Shah - accused of misusing authority when he was serving as the Minister for Agriculture from 2008 to 2013 - to five years in prison.
