Karachi, Lahore: Demonstrations by traders against withholding tax
Major demonstrations were held in Islamabad, Gujranwala and Faislabad
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Traders Association held demonstrations against withholding tax in various cities countrywide on Wednesday. Major demonstrations were held in Islamabad, Gujranwala and Faislabad as well, reported Dunya News.
In Islamabad, traders registered their protests by marching from Melody Chowk to Press Club. The protestors marched with black flags in their hands. Protestors shouted slogans against the government.
In Rawalpindi, traders took out a rally from Raja Bazaar and protested on the roads.
In Gujranwala, traders demonstrated on G.T Road and blocked the traffic. The traders have said that if their demands are not met then the scope of the protest will increase.
In Faisalabad, traders protested at Ghanta Chowk and set up camp at the spot.
Demonstrations were also held in Chaman to object to levying of withholding tax.
