One killed, 3 civilians injured in latest LoC violations by Indian forces

The latest firing incident occurred in Datote village along the Line of Control.

KOTLI (Dunya News) – At least three Pakistani civilians sustained injuries in unprovoked firing by Indian forces in Nakial sector of Kotli district on Tuesday.

The latest firing incident took place in Datote village where three civilians identified as 23-year-old Anbreena, 14-year-old Sunny and 21-year-old Rozeena.

Earlier today, a civilian was killed in unprovoked shelling and firing by Indian forces in Thathi Khurd village in Charwah sector.
Pakistan Rangers effectively responded to the Indian firing.

On Monday, the Indian Deputy High Commissioner was summoned to the Foreign Office. A protest was lodged against unprovoked ceasefire violations on 15 to 16 August, by Indian troops at the Line of Control in Kotli Sector, which resulted in martyrdom of three civilians, 55-year-old Shafi Khan, 56-year-old Shahpal Khan and Sara Khatoon wife of Mohammad Ashraf.

Moreover, fifteen civilians were also injured as a result of Indian fire.

The Deputy High Commissioner was conveyed that the Indian side must investigate the incident, share the findings of the investigations with Pakistan, instruct its troops to respect the Ceasefire, in letter and spirit, and maintain peace on the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir.

So far, there have been 72 ceasefire violations from the Indian side of the LoC and the Working Boundary.
