The JUI-F chief said he wants to start first phase of talks with MQM from this evening.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Talking exclusively to Dunya News before leaving for Karachi, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Monday stated that he is hundred percent hopeful that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) parliamentarians will return to the assemblies.

Fazlur Rehman said he is playing a mediator s for sake of the parliament, democracy and system.

He said he will keep in touch with the Prime Minister regarding MQM’s demands whereas according to constitutional experts, the MQM lawmakers can withdraw their resignations before approval by the Speaker.

Moreover, the JUI-F chief said he wants to start first phase of talks with the MQM leaders from this evening.

MQM’s 24 members of the National Assembly, eight senators and 51 Sindh Assembly members resigned from their seats last week in protest against alleged victimisation of the party workers.

In response, the government urged the MQM to withdraw its resignations and assured its members that their reservations will be addressed but there will be no compromise on Karachi operation.
