Summary RPO says dispute mainly of 19 acre of land, claimed by influential Master Zafar, Naeem groups

LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Police have been trying to spin the Kasur child abuse case into a land dispute. Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sheikhupura Shehzad Sultan says that the dispute is mainly between politically influential Master Zafar and Naeem groups on 19 acres of land, reported Dunya News.

According to RPO Sheikhupura, friends of a man named Naeem made a deal on 19 acres of land, the price of which became a reason for dispute between the two parties. He says that there is Master Zafar group on one side and Naeem group on the other.

However, this new narrative by the police has raised further questions. If it’s just a land dispute then why did police arrest 8 suspects?

While the DPO Sheikhupura acknowledged the occurrence of rapes, he says that the number of cases was much less. But if the rape cases were not enough, then why were 7 cases registered in one month only? Why did Chief Minister Punjab order immediate arrest of the suspects after looking at the investigation report?

Kasur police admit that both the groups are influential. Are they also under their influence?

The horrific Kasur child molestation scandal demands police’s impartiality but it seems that the police are trying to save itself from the dispute.
