MQM leader confesses to British police of Indian funding
Mir admitted that MQM had received financial aid from the Indian intelligence agency.
LONDON (Dunya News) – Senior Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Tariq Mir had confessed to the London Metropolitan Police of funding and training by Indian Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) officials of MQM, documents of Edgware Police Station revealed.
Mir gave his alleged statement to the British police highlighting the meetings between MQM and the Indian officials. In the statement Mir also revealed that top MQM leadership including MQM chief Altaf Hussain, senior leaders ImranFarooq and Mohammad Anwar were all aware of this financial aid and the ongoing meetings.

According to the alleged statement, Mir admitted that MQM had received financial aid from the Indian intelligence agency and its officials had also trained workers of the party. Mir stated that the senior Indian official was of a high designation with access to senior minister and Prime Minister level. Mir also revealed that MQM had asked for about 1.5 million US dollars in financial aid. The currency was later changed to sterling’s. The MQM leader confessed that as far as he remembers the meeting for the financial aid took place in Italy’s city of Rome.

Mir revealed that MQM received 800,000 pound sterling per annum from India for its operations.

Mir stated that Altaf Hussain may have received this aid directly or through Mohammad Anwar. He stated that this funding from India was kept as a very closely guarded secret. Mir stated that it was his responsibility to arrange the air tickets and to make the hotel arrangements. He also revealed that this funding by India was provided to further Indian interests.

Mir also admitted that the funding was largely used to buy houses and the highest amount he received was for a house purchase.
The senior MQM leader also revealed that MQM workers were sent to India for training.

MQM responded to these serious allegations and the MQM spokesperson stated that they were not sure how true these statements were and they could not discuss this matter right now.
