Administrative committee to probe into rigging allegations: CM Khattak

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - All Parties Conference (APC) called by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government over local bodies election has decided to form commission to probe KP LB polls, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.

While talking to the media after APC, Pervez Khattak told that the authorities have formed an administrative committee to probe into rigging allegations and encouraged the people to come forward with evidence including videos and audios.

He said that the committee would take action within a week.

Responding to a question, CM KP added that dealing with procedural issues, where returning officers went wrong is job of ECP.

Pervez Khattak said that he had never given any order to any returning officer to stop results.

As per details, the conference was headed by Chief Minister of KP Pervez Khattak in which the leaders of Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) boycotted to take part.

Sikandar Sherpao and Aneesa Zeb Tahir from Qaumi Watan Party participated in the meeting whereas Intekhab Chamkani from Paksitan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), Shahram Tarakzai from Awami Jamhoori Itehad and Professor Ibrahim from Jamat-e-Islami (JI) also attended the conference.

Information Minister Mushtaq Ghani represented PTI while Atif Khan and Shah Farman have also given their views during the meeting.

The meeting was called on to discuss the issue of rigging in LB polls that were held on May 30.

On the other hand, three of the big opposition parties ANP, PPP and JUI-F have announced strike on June 10.

According to the details, opposition parties have announced to observe a shutter-down strike on June 10. Leader of the 3-party alliance Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that pressure will be applied from all sides till government’s resignation.
