PML-N, PPP, PTI to contest for most no. of seats in GB election while MQM, APML, JUI also in contest

GILGIT – (Dunya News, Web Desk) – In Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) elections political parties including Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) and Islami Tehreek-i-Pakistan (ITP) have geared up to take the throne of Gilgit Baltistan.

There are 24 seats put on the contest in the poll. PML-N has filed the most number of candidates, 24, for the election while the PPP has filed 22. PTI has filed 21 candidates, MQM filed 12 while APML, JUI and ITP have filed 10 candidates each for the elections. A total of 618,364 voters are going to vote in the polls out of which 288,879 are women and 329,475 are men. 57 polling stations have been set up in GB for this election. At least 5,500 army soldiers have been deployed to maintain law and order.

11:20: Ghadar: Shakeel Ahmed of PML-N won elections in gathered 4189.


10:50: Skardu: Iqbal Ahsan wins the elections by gathering 5564 votes in constituency 11. In second place is PTI s Syed Amjad Zaidi who got 4792 votes.


10:00: Skardu: According to unofficial vote count, MWM s Imtiaz Haider is currently leading with 7613 votes.



9:40: MWM s candidate Muhammad Ali has won  secured 26,015 votes in constituency 4, Hunza.
 


9:14: Ibrahim Sanai wins seat in constituency 22. According to unofficial vote count, he has won by gathering 11251 votes.


9:07: PML-N has won 4 seats while according to unoffical count, it is in lead in 5 constituencies.


8:52 Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan lauded the security agencies for ensuring a peaceful election in GB. He also thanked the people of GB for their exemplary cooperation.

8:35 PML-N s Muhammad Wakeel wins the election in LA-18, Diamir, securing 3500 votes. JUI-F s Haji Gulbar Khan remained runner-up in this constituency. He secured 2,180 votes.


8:25 Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen candidate Rizwan Ali won Hunza LA-5 by securing 2,436 votes. Independent candidate Prince Qasim Ali remained runner-up here. He secured 1,932 votes. Total registered voters in the constituency are 11,992 while the turnout remained 52%.


8:01: Voter turn-out in constituency 6 was 44%.


7:56: PML-N s Mir Ghazzanfar Ali wins election in constituency 6 by gathering 6384 votes.


6:19:  According to unoffical count in 10 polling stations of constituency 2, PML-N s Hafiz Hafeez ur Rehman is in lead with 1917 votes.


6:13: MWM and PPP in lead in 4 constituencies, according to unoffical count.
