RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – The investigative officer in the Ayyan Ali’s money laundering case on Wednesday has been gunned down for allegedly getting his hands on key evidences which were to be presented in court.

Customs inspector Chaudhry Ijaz was shot three bullets by unidentified motorcyclists in Qasimabad. According to the locals and the affected family, the miscreants tried to abduct Ijaz first and upon failing opened fire.

He was transferred to the Benazir Bhutto Hospital where he succumbed to the wounds.

According to the sources, the officer possessed certain key evidences and smuggled currency which he was to file in the Customs Court.

The funeral prayer of the killed will be offered at 6pm in Qasimabad.
