KP Local Bodies election: Firing in different areas kills 10
Crossfire between two groups kills independent candidate Saif-ur-rehman Gujjar in Abbotabad
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Clashes and incidents of firing during the Local Bodies Election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) left 10 dead while many injured on Saturday in different area of KP. Firing in Sherpao area of Charsadda killed 6 people while 2 more were killed during the clash in Ganju area of Dera Ismail Khan. A man was killed in Kohat as well as result of firing.
Crossfire between two groups killed the independent candidate Saif-ur-rehman Gujjar in Abbotabad while left 3 injured. 20 people were injured during the crossfire between the supporters of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) supporters. 4 people were left injured after a clash between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and PPP workers in Ward 6 of Kirk area. PTI and Jammiat Ullama-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) supporters fought in Hangu, resulting in injuring the JUI-F candidate Nasrullah. The supporters of JUI-F and PTI also had a clash in Government Primary School Number 1 in Nowshera.
In Tehsil Road area of Nowshera, ANP and PTI workers had a fight in women polling station and the situation was controlled by the police afterwards. People set ballot boxes on fire in Rashkai area while in polling station number 2 of Nowshera, angry mob broke the ballot boxes and threw the ballot papers in the air.
A voter broke the ballot box in Garhi Ismailzai area of Mardan as well. In Charsadda the workers of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) attacked the polling station and injured a policeman. A policeman was attacked by voters for casting fake votes in Abbotabad while in Chamad area of Abbotabad the clash between PTI and PML-N workers injured 2 people and army was called to control the situation afterwards. In swabi, polling was stopped in Girls High School polling station due to the clash between ANP and AJI workers.
Polling was also stopped in Bechamail area of Mansehra after a clash between PTI and ANP workers. In lower dir, voters jumped inside polling station over the closed gate which caused strife and disturbed the process of polling. Strife was seen in many areas of KP even after the end of polling process.
