Terrorists kill 20 people after kidnapping 35 passengers in Mastung

15-20 armed militants dressed in security forces uniforms came in double cabin vehicles.

MASTUNG (Dunya News) – Terrorists disguised as security forces personnel killed 20 people after kidnapping 35 passengers from 2 coaches on Friday. The incident occurred near Khad Koch area of Mastung. The armed terrorists stopped 2 coaches bound for Karachi from Pasheen. The armed militants took the passengers into nearby hills. According to the District Coordination Officer (DCO) Mastung and security sources, the 15-20 armed militants dressed in security forces’ uniforms came in double cabin vehicles.

A heavy contingent of Frontier Corps (FC), Levies and police personnel arrived at the scene and started an operation against the terrorists. An exchange of fire went on between the police and the militants long into the night. Provincial Interior Minister Sarfaraz Bugti informed that the security forces rescued 5 people during the operation.

Transporters blocked the National Highway and protested against the terrorist attack.

Prime Minister of Pakistan (PM) Nawaz Sharif expressed his concerns over the event and advised that every possible effort be carried out for the safe rescue of the passengers. Chief Minister Balochistan also took a strong notice of the incident.
