3 dead, 15 injured as explosion targeting President's son rocks Hub
President Mamnoon's son and his convoy remained safe in the attack
HUB (Dunya News) – At least three persons were killed and another fifteen injured as result of an explosion outside a hotel at RCD Highway, Dunya News reported.
According to the police, the explosion was result of remote controlled explosives which were planted in a motorcycle. It resulted in suspension of traffic at the highway.
The injured were rushed to Karachi Hospital. Additional Superintendent of Police (SP) Lasbela Zia Mandu Khel said that the attack took place when President Mamnoon Hussain’s son’s convoy was passing by, however, President’s son Suleman escaped the attack.
Among wounded are five police personnel out of whom one is in critical condition. The wounded personnel belonging to SSU unit have been transferred to Karachi’s Agha Khan Hospital.
Reportedly, Suleman Mamnoon was returning from his farmhouse situated in Hub. The Home Minister of Sindh Suhail Anwar has condemned the incident and has directed to provide utmost care to those wounded.
Sources said that those wounded were passersby.
