KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) protest against water crisis in Karachi continued on second consecutive day on Saturday, Dunya News reported.

According to details, the protest took place outside Karachi press club in which MQM’s lawmakers from national and provincial assemblies participated.

MQM leader Farooq Sattar said that if Islamabad remained silent over water shortage in Karachi then Punjab will not be able to get Pak-China economic corridor.

He said artificial crisis has been made in the city by distributing the water on political basis, adding that riots can erupt if MQM did not ‘peacefully’ protest over the issue.

He said the riots can turn into linguistic riots which will also be blamed on MQM.

MQM leaders alleged that a corruption of several crores is being done in the name of free water tankers. They said other political parties should also raise voice over water crisis in the city.

They further said that the protests will continue until just distribution of water and that ‘flood’ of people will turn to houses of power if they don’t get water.
