If MQM gets 100,000 votes and PTI gets 35,000, it will be considered our victory, says PTI leader

KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader, and MNA from Karachi, Dr. Arif Alvi has on Thursday said that PTI will consider it a victory if it secured 35,000 votes in response to 100,000 votes by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), reported Dunya News.

Holding a press conference at Karimabad Camp Office in Karachi, Arif Alvi demanded that polling time should be extended at polling stations where polling started late. He said that the PTI has not supported the demand to extend polling time on all polling stations.

Arif Alvi said that PTI’s workers and polling agents were being harassed. “Opponents misbehaved with PTI candidate throughout the election campaign”, he added.

Responding to a question, Alvi said that PTI had nothing to do with the worker arrested for allegedly violating the election code of conduct. “He should be sent to jail for three years instead of three months”, he said.

“We had demanded federal government employees to be appointed at polling stations but local officers were deployed. We have reservations on this”, he added.
