Summary Hamid Raza took Tariq Mehboob's dead body to CM House after talks failed between police and SIC

KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Chief Minister (CM) House Sindh has been blocked with containers on Sunday for security as Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) holds a sit-in Karachi for the killing of SIC leader Tariq Mehboob. SIC Chairman Sahibzada Hamid Raza held negotiations with the police earlier but later carried the dead body to CM House as the negotiations failed. Police stopped the rally at Sea Breeze on MA Jinnah Road. Rally sat for the sit-in right there, reported Dunya News.

According to the details, heavy police deployment was observed at CM House. Police diverted the traffic to other routes for ensuring security of the office.

Hamid Raza announced that the dead body will not be buried until registration of cases against those responsible for the attack. He also announced that sit-in will continue outside CM House until the demands are met.

SIC’s rally started from Tariq Mehboob’s residence at Yousaf Plaza on Pakistan Avenue. Protesters raised slogans on this occasion. Police officials arrived on the scene and held talks with Sahibzada Hamid Raza but failed to reconcile with him.

Police tried to stop the rally at Nipa Chorangi, Bayt-ul-Mukarram Mosque and Souk Center on University Road but in vain. However, heavy deployment of police arrived at Sea Breeze on MA Jinnah Road and succeeded in stopping the rally there. Protesters staged the sit-in at Sea Breeze as a result.
