DOHRKI (Dunya News) -- A Jirga in the area of Dohrki, Ghotki handed over a 7-year-old girl to settle a dispute on Monday. The father of the girl was slain 16 months ago on the decision of a jirga as well, reported Dunya News.
An illegal jirga handed over its own absurd decision to a family over land dispute despite court orders on the issue.
In Jam Samejo, neigbouring village of Dohrki, an adolescent girl was decided to be given to a rival faction on the dispute of 1 acre land under the custom of wani. The tribal further threatened that on the non-compliance of the decision handed out by the jirga, the family will have to migrate from the village.
According to the family, the 7-year-old girl Rabail’s father has also been slain 16 months ago over a decision handed out by the council.
The affected family said that they have no guardian left to look after them and complained that the 1 acre land had become a source of headache for the family.
The family appealed to the authorities to take notice of the situation and provide them with justice and adequate protection.
