Altaf Hussain insisted political forces must unite

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Sunday phoned Jamaat Islami chief Sirajul Haq over the ongoing war in Yemen, Dunya News reported.

Both leaders – whose parties view each other as archrivals and have called for ban against the other – exchanged views over the ongoing crisis in Middle East in the wake of Yemen operation.

Altaf Hussain urged unity among all the political parties whereas Sirajul Haq insisted the US and Israel will ultimately gain from the war in Yemen.

Earlier, Altaf Hussain demanded Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to summon an all parties’ conference (APC).

In a statement, Altaf Hussain asked while addressing all political and religious parties whether Pakistan will learn anything from the past or not.

He said the seriousness of the crisis can lead to a third word war. He said it is disappointing how so called ‘liberal’ and ‘progressive’ parties are telling to support Saudi Arabia.

He warned the rulers against joining any war for temporary incentives. Altaf Hussain also called JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and urged to bury the hatchets.

MQM and JI have been on collision course with both asking for ban against the other; however, Altaf Hussain insisted political forces must unite.
