South Waziristan: At least 5,516 IDPs repatriated under army's supervision

The repatriation phases in South Waziristan expand until April 4

BANNU (Dunya News) – The process of repatriation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) continues on Saturday under the supervision of the Pakistan Army. At least 5,516 people of as many as 788 families have been shifted to their local areas.

According to the details, the army is giving Rs 25,000 cash, ration for first six months, free transport and other necessary items to each family. The repatriation phases in South Waziristan expand until April 4.

Earlier, in 2009 the security forces launched an operation, Rah-e-Nijat against militants in the area. Upon which more than one lac locals migrated to safer places including Tank on the government’s behest. On the successful completion of the operation, the army is supervising their safe return to the areas where they belong from.
