Chehlum of Peshawar martyrs observed
A Chehlum event was also organized by ANP in which prayers and Quran recitation were offered
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – The government officials and political personalities on Sunday participated in events that took place on various locations to observe Chehlum (marking of 40th day) of the martyrs of Peshawar massacre, Dunya News reported.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Awami National Party (ANP) and Punjab government also participated in the Chehlum events.
A prayer event arranged by MQM took place at Peshawar press club where MQM’s parliamentary leaders Farooq Sattar, Abdul Rasheed, members of Raabta Committee and parents of the martyred children participated.
Showing solidarity with families of the deceased, Farooq Sattar demanded the government to award the martyrs with military awards like Sitara-e-Jurrat and Nishan-e-Haider.
The Chehlum event of two cousins Syed Zulqarnain and Yasirullah took place at their native home in Bazar Kalan whereas the Chehlum event of Haris Nawaz took place at Nawazabad.
Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s ministers for minerals also participated in the event.
