Hyderabad: PPP worker immolates himself as demonstration of protest
The workers demanded off PPP chairman to terminate Labour Union president, general secretary
HYDERABAD (Dunya News) – A Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) worker on Friday immolated himself in a demonstration of protest for the immediate termination of the Labour Union president.
The PPP workers continued their demonstration of protest on the sixth day in the Workers’ Union PS-49 Latifabad in District Hyderabad. The workers had declared a hunger strike six days earlier while demonstrated a protest outside the press club and carried out a rally also.
A worker immolated himself during the demonstration of protest and was shifted to the Civil Hospital by fellow PPP workers.
However, the workers demanded off PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to immediately take action and terminate Labour Union’s president and general secretary from the posts for doing corruption. They accused the labour leadership of favouritism in selling the houses of the Mehran Cooperative Housing Society as they sold the houses to the builders with whom they share good terms. The plots were to be distributed among the PPP workers.
The workers demanded off PPP chairman to take notice of the corruption and set up an inquiry committee to probe the matter.
