MQM stages protests against Lal Masjid cleric in various cities

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Sunday protested against Lal Masjid cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz’s allegedly threatening video in various cities. The protesters chanted loud slogans against the cleric, Dunya News reported.

A large rally took place in Karachi in which MQM workers chanted loud slogans against Lal Masjid cleric. Leaders also demanded cleric’s immediate arrest.

Addressing the rally, MQM leader Haider Abbas Rizvi said that MQM chief Altaf Hussain is heart beat of millions of people, adding that only a few thousand people support those who are issuing threatening statements.

MQM protested outside Hyderabad Press Club in which a large number of workers including women participated.

Protesters comprising MQM workers, members of civil society and Christian community demonstrated against Lal Masjid cleric in Sukkur.

Participants were carrying banners and placards.

MQM led a rally in Nawabshah as well where the rally started at MQM zonal office and ended at press club.

The demonstrations also took place in Peshawar in which participants protested against Abdul Aziz.

Another protest took place outside Multan press club by MQM workers.

The demonstrations took place in Gujranwala as well in which MQM workers chanted loud slogans.
