Larkana: Four infants among five children die due to lack of oxygen
Sindh govt had issued an annual budget of oxygen purchase but it was not distributed to the hospital
LARKANA (Dunya News) – At least five children including four infants died on Saturday in Chandka Medical Hospital in Larkana due to insufficient oxygen whereas Chief Minister of Sindh has also taken the notice of the deaths, Dunya News reported.
As per details, Sindh government had issued an annual budget for the purchase of oxygen and the amount had also been sent to the Finance Department of district Larkana but accounts officer of Larkana district had not passed on the amount to the hospital.
The hospital has 1300 beds and one oxygen cyliner is currently providing oxygen to four children whereas the lives of hundreds of patients are at stake as well.
Moreover, relatives of children are continuously begging to provide oxygen supply to the hospital.
