This case was set aside by the Supreme Court and the trial judge was criticized for it, says Babar

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Peoples’ Party spokesperson on Monday has refuted the Swiss tribunal verdict saying that the Swiss jewellery worth $180,000 never belonged to former Prime Minister (PM) Benazir Bhutto.

He said that Benazir had also appeared before the Swiss Investigation Magistrate on September 19 2005 and denied ownership of the jewellery.

He also said that in one of the hearings, the owner of the jewellery shop also denied having seen Benazir ever before and said that he did not know her.

Earlier, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had said that a safe that belonged to Benazir was seized in Geneva. However, later it was proved that Benazir Bhutto did not have a safe in Geneva in the first place.

Farhatullah Babar also said that it is the same case which the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan had set aside and criticized the judge for the trial.
