Zulfiqar's blood sample has been sent to Islamabad for Ebola tests

FAISALABAD (Dunya News) – A 40-year-old resident of Chiniot, Zulfiqar on Monday has been admitted to the Allied Hospital on suspicion of presence of Ebola virus in his blood.

According to details, Zulfiqar returned from Africa few days ago and he bleeds from his nose and mouth.

He was admitted to the Allied Hospital two days ago.

Zulfiqar’s blood sample has been sent to National Institute of Health (NIH) Islamabad for Ebola tests.

However, it will be decided through his blood report that whether he is a carrier of Ebola virus or not.

Meanwhile, a team of the World Health Organisation (WHO) has reached Islamabad to review the measures taken to protect the people from Ebola virus.

Reportedly, a 6-member team of the WHO will start its work on Tuesday. The team will also visit Lahore and Karachi.

The team will review the Ebola Isolation Wards in hospitals.

The WHO had instructed to establish special scanners at the airports, training of the medical staff and formation of isolation wards in hospitals to be completed within a month.

However, these safety measures have not been taken yet.

The authorities of the Health Department have said that they would make an efficient system to defend spread of the virus soon.
