Sialkot: Members of Defense Committee visit working boundary

Delegates were briefed about the security situation along the working boundary in Sialkot.

SIALKOT (Dunya News) – Delegation consisting of members of Defense Committee in Senate Mushahid Hussain Syed and Mohsin Laghari visited working boundary in Sialkot on Wednesday.

Army officials and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sialkot warmly welcomed the delegation at Chenab Rangers Headquarters and were briefed by Director General (DG) Rangers Major General Khan Tahir Javed Khan about the security situation at the working boundary.

He told the delegates that 11 citizens have died whereas 38 people including three Rangers officers got injured in the wake of Indian firing at the working boundary in Sialkot in the month of October.

DG Rangers informed Indian forces violated the border 33 times while the unprovoked firing and shelling targeted unarmed citizens including children and women.

Several houses were destroyed and people were deprived of their animals as a result of Indian offences, he added.
