IDPs should not be subjected to political differences: Fazlur Rehman

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Monday said that the internally displaced persons (IDPs) should not be subjected to the political disputes, Dunya News reported.

A jirga of Pashtun political parties took place under headship of Awami National Party (ANP) chief Asfandyar Wali in Islamabad. Talking to the media after the jirga, Fazlur Rehman said that the IDPs have been through enough and that they shouldn’t be targeted on the basis of political disputes.

Jamaat Islami chief Sirajul Haq who also participated in the jirga said that IDPs are a concern of the province and the federation.

ANP chief Wali Khan termed the IDPs issue a responsibility of the federation, province and the media.

The jirga was attended by key leaders including Fazlur Rehman, Mehmood Achakzai, Sirajul Haq and Aftab Sherpao. The leaders discussed the issues and difficulties faced by the IDPs as result of the ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb against the terrorists.
