Punjab Health Secretary Jawad Rafique Malik has been appointed as head of the inquiry

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Punjab Home Department found out on Friday that the report of murder attempt made in 1990 on Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri has been misplaced by the department itself.

Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Shahbaz Sharif expressed anger over the misplacement of the opposition leader’s report and issued directives for an immediate inquiry of the issue.

On directives of the Chief Secretary Punjab, Secretary Home Major (r) Azam Suleman Khan appointed Punjab Health Secretary Jawad Rafique Malik as head of the inquiry and also issued an official notice.

Earlier in 1990, the investigation was closed down when it came to the notice of the authorities concerned that the murder attempt was a staged act and that blood of a goat was used for this.

Now, on the orders of the high court to submit the 1990’s report in a separate case that is ongoing against Dr Qadri, it was found out that there is no report in the Home Department.

Several other cases of misplacement of documents by the Home Department have also surfaced earlier.
