MQM chief said MQM has taken the decision of black day out of a heavy heart.

LONDON (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Saturday said endorsed the Raabta Committee’s decision to observe ‘black day’ and appealed the traders and transporters to keep the business shut, Dunya News reported.

MQM chief said MQM has taken the decision of black day out of a heavy heart.

He said the parties that remained silent on Khursheed Shah’s slur acted with hypocrisy.

Earlier, MQM announced to observe countrywide ‘black day’ on Sunday to protest against Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Khursheed Shah’s slur about the term ‘Muhajir’, literally ‘migrant’, Dunya News reported.

The Raabta Committee said that the Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly termed the word ‘Muhajir’ as abusive for no less than four times. MQM appealed the transporters and traders to keep the business closed for the day.

Addressing a press conference along with other Raabta Committee leaders, Abdul Haseeb Khan said that Quran mentions the merits of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) migration. He said those who migrated for the sake of creation of Pakistan also did it in the name of God and his Prophet (PBUH).

He said those who migrated at the time of creation of Pakistan were referred to as ‘migrants’.

He claimed that as per both the references, Khursheed Shah is guilty of slander against Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

He said that a complaint has been lodged in the court against Khursheed Shah’s statement and the court has been given the authority to decide on this.
