Punjab Assembly passes bill to issue blue passports to MPAs
Bill ensures diplomatic passports be issued to speakers and deputy speakers.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Assembly has approved bill to issue blue passports to Ministers of Provincial Assemblies (MPAs) and diplomatic passports to speakers and deputy speakers based on the recommendations by the federal government on Tuesday.
Rest of the provincial assemblies also passed resolutions following the suit and now federal government is bound issue blue passports.
The ordinance has been approved in context to the decision made in speakers’ conference to ensure that the officials do not face any encumbrance during international visits.
Earlier, on March 18, 2014 Punjab Assembly had passed a similar resolution seeking blu passports for top officials.
