Mortar shells fired from Afghan side landed on a house in Bajaur Agency.

PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – One person was killed when two mortar shells fired from Afghan province Kunar fell on a house in Tehsil Nawagai area of Bajaur Agency on Tuesday, Dunya News reported.

As per details, the mortar shells hit a house in village Babra near Pak-Afghan border. The house belonged to a person identified Shina Khan and the deceased has been identified has Sher Ali Khan.

Fear and panic gripped the area after the incident, however, it could not be ascertained that who fired the mortar shells. Meanwhile, volunteers of a local peace committee launched a search operation in the bordering area.

Separately, a remote-controlled bomb blast took place near a convoy of security forces in Aalam Godar area in Khyber Agency, however, no loss of life or damage was reported in the incident.

At least 43 militants have been killed and more than hundred militants have surrendered during ongoing  Operation Khyber 1’ in Khyber Agency. 

Earlier on Monday evening, three security personnel were injured when a group of miscreants crossed border from Afghan side and attacked a military check post in Ghakhi area of Tehsil Mamund.

Later, banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility of the attack.
