KARACHI (Dunya News)— A witness has identified two accused in the murder case of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Zehra Shahid on Monday, Dunya News reported.

The two accused Rashid Tailor and Zahid Abbas were presented for an identification parade in the Judicial Magistrate’s court by the police. The eye witness Ghulam Rasool identified the two suspects during the parade.

The witness said in his statement that when he reached the murder sight both accused were riding a bike and shot Zehra Shahid in the neck. The lawyer of the two accused has filed a petition against the identification parade, arguing that legal requirements were not followed during the parade.

The senior PTI leader was gunned down on May 18, 2013 near her home in Karachi’s Defence House Authority (DHA).

A case was registered under Sections 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997 at the Gizri police station after her murder.
