Ordinance issued to hold polls under biometric system in KP
Provincial delimitation authority has also been transferred to ECP.
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has transferred the authority of delimitation for electoral units to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday, Dunya News reported. An ordinance has been issued for holding elections under biometric system and for transferring the authority of delimitation process to ECP.
Speaking to Dunya News, AdvocateGeneral of KP Latif Yousafzai told that the provincial government has completed the legislative work related to delimitation of electoral units. He informed that an ordinance has been issued for the transfer of provincial delimitation authority to ECP and for holding local body elections under biometric system. The ordinance has come into effect from October 10.
