Chairman PTI asks CM Punjab to hold an inquiry of the matter against the district management

MULTAN: (Dunya News, Web Desk) – Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has expressed great grief over Multan incident which claimed 7 lives due to stampeded. He demanded immediate inquiry of the matter from Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif. He said that district management did not cooperate with the PTI. He demanded from CM Punjab to suspend the Deputy Commissioner of Multan over this incident.

Addressing the sit-in today (Friday) in Islamabad, Imran Khan said that management should have left more gates opened. He said that political parties never have the capacity to make arrangements for such massive gatherings and it should have been the responsibility of the district management to look into the matter. He said that Multan administration did not provide the stadium with electricity.

Secretary Information PTI Shirien Mazari has said that it was government’s responsibility to make arrangements for the gathering. “Why only 2 of the 8 gates were left open”, asked Mazari.

Vice Chirman PTI Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that the entire responsibility lied with the Punjab and Multan administration. He said that administration did not cooperate and cut the electric supply to the stadium immediately after the gathering ended.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has also expressed grief over the incident. CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has ordered an inquiry into the matter and has expressed great grief over the matter. He also directed the local authorities for proper care and treatment of the injured. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that he felt sorry for the PTI workers who lost their lives due to stampede in Multan.

Co-Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Altaf Hussain also expressed sorrow over the incident.
