Pakistan seeks international aid for flood victims, IDPs

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar presided over International Donors' Conference in Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Finance Minister Ishaq Dar chaired International Donors  Conference in the federal capital today (Friday).

The meeting was attended by the representatives of World Bank, Asian Development Bank, USAID, JICA and other agencies. Envoys of several countries including US and Britain were also present in the conference.

The meeting considered measures for the rehabilitation of IDPs and flood affectees. International donors were briefed over loss of lives and damage to public property due to recent floods.

On the occasion, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said that rehabilitation of internally displaced persons (IDPs) from North Waziristan Agency and flood affected people is top priority of the Government, however, international assistance is required for rehabilitation of the large number of affected persons.
