ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has extended the deadline for politicians to submit their assets’ details by 15 days. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, Opposition Leader in National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah and Chief Minister Sindh Qasim Ali Shah submitted their assets’ details before the ECP. Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan is yet to share the details of his assets.

It is a must for all the politicians to submit their details with the ECP by September 30 every year. However, because a sizeable number of politicians had not yet been able to submit their details, ECP has extended the deadline to October 15. The membership of the members failing to submit their details within the given time cannot be cancelled till after 15 days of the deadline. So far, only 555 members of the assembly have submitted their assets’ details. Out of these 555 members, 191 belong to National Assembly while 68 are from Senate.

Assets’ details of the members will be uploaded on the official website after 15th of October.
