Legal notice asks Imran to apologize for baseless allegations, pay Rs. 10 billion for defamation

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Opposition leader in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah has served legal notice to Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan for defaming him in public speeches. Legal notice asks Imran Khan to apologize for his allegations against Khurshid Shah and pay 10 billion rupees or else he will be taken to court.

According to the details, Imran Khan had alleged Opposition leader Khurshid Shah, who belongs to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), of corruption in his recent speeches. Responding to the allegations, Khurshid Shah has served a legal notice of defamation to Imran Khan. Defamation notice was prepared by PPP’s legal team headed by Senator Raza Rabbani. Legal notice asks Imran Khan to apologize and pay Rs. 10 billion to Khurshid Shah within 14 days. Notice says that if Imran fails to do as stated, Khurshid Shah will move to court against him.

According to the notice, Imran Khan had made baseless allegations over Opposition leader during his address on 20th of August. Imran Khan said that there are cases pending against Khurshid Shah which is why he is supporting Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
