ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Federal government has published White Paper on Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KPK) government performance. Titled as "A great betrayal in the name of change – Performance Overview of KP government", the White Paper highlights the incompetence of provincial government by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI). Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz rashid said that KPK government is being run without a Chief Minister.

Presenting it before media today (Thursday) in Islamabad, Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Marvi Memon said that ‘New Pakistan’ was seen in D-Chowk of Islamabad instead of KPK. Highlighting the main points where PML-N feels KPK government to be lacking, Marvi said that KPK generated lower revenue compared to Punjab. She said that none of the promises made by PTI during their election campaign was fulfilled.

It also says that 354 education related protests were held during last one year while a case against DG Technical Education was registered in NAB because of corruption. “KP is the only province that does not have legislation to pursue Article 25-a free compulsory legislation”, said Marvi Memon, quoting from the White Paper.


KPK government spent only 23.36 percent of the total amount allocated for development in the province.

She said that under-expenditure on development budget proves that potential jobs were not created in the province which led to poor development of human resource and people’s lifestyle. She said that none of the 23 approved mega projects was started while only 31 pc of the budget was spent.


KPK’s revenue generation was second lowest among all the provinces. Punjab generated Rs. 96.4 billion while KPK generated only Rs. 11.7 billion.

Highlighting the administrative failures of KPK government, Marvi Memon mentioned that Chinese investment not coming to KPK because of massive corruption scandals of the provincial government. She said that several illegal appointments have been made by the provincial government and many of the projects have been stopped due to corruption. “Charges of corruption against 11 KPK provincial ministers are not being probed”, she told.
