Sirajul Haq terms sit-in protests a reaction against system of injustice

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Jamaat Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq on Sunday said that the sit-in protests in Islamabad are a reaction against the system of injustice adding that the rulers have been committing treason with the ideology of Pakistan for the past 66 years, Dunya News reported.

Addressing a rally at Khyber Bazar area in Peshawar, JI chief said that the rulers didn’t prove loyalty to the Shariah and democracy.

He said every government promised to do away with foreign borrowings but instead they burdened the public with more debt.

He claimed that the decisions of fate of people of Pakistan are taken in the United States and not in Pakistan.

Sirajul Haq said that the poor in this country don’t even have those facilities that the pets in the houses of rulers enjoy.

He said Quaid-e-Azam did not make this country for feudal lords and capitalists, adding that his party is re-starting ‘Pakistan movement’ from Pakistan minaret in November this year.

Jamaat Islami Peshawar also announced to stage sit-in outside Wapda House over increment in electricity bills on September 23 and to challenge the addition in income tax and sales tax in the court.
